The US Embargo

On 23 March 1960, President Eisenhower imposed a partial trade embargo on Cuba.

On 7 February 1962, President Kennedy announced a total trade embargo against Cuba.

“. . . and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning-hooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.”
